GET TO KNOW ME

Do you struggle with anxiety that affects your day-to-day life? Do you feel overwhelmed by your relationship and worry that you’ll make the wrong decision? Have you had life changes that have been difficult to accept? Do you question if your anxiety will always impact your life? You’re not alone. While it can feel isolating, you’re not the only one experiencing anxiety and uncertainty. And, things can get better.

Imagine feeling less anxious and experiencing a renewed sense of calm in your daily life.  As you learn to identify and better understand the situations and thoughts that contribute to your anxiety, you feel more hopeful about change. You develop ways to prevent anxiety and cope with it more effectively when needed. You're more present in your interactions with others and you have more energy to pursue the things that matter to you most.

Hello! My name is Bella Bowers, and I'm an Associate Professional Counselor.  I enjoy helping clients better understand and navigate anxiety, grief, life transitions, relationship issues, and the impact of trauma. I see clients who are 15 years and older.

In sessions, I like to utilize a Humanistic approach, which means that I like to aid my clients in identifying their strengths and ability to grow. I focus on my clients’ ability to flourish, heal, and find meaning in their lives. I think that clients can determine their goals and actualize them in their lives. My goal is to empower my clients to feel capable of creating the change they wish to see in themselves.

My View and Approach to Therapy: As a therapist, I view my role as providing support and perspective for my clients. To facilitate this, I utilize therapeutic techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. For every session, I seek to create a warm and inviting space where clients feel at ease to discuss and explore change. I believe it’s important that I provide a safe place for cultural diversity and differences in gender and sexual orientation.

Why Work With Me: I help my clients learn more about themselves and their relationship patterns. I also help my clients develop and strengthen coping skills, learn healthier ways of communicating with others, and identify what they hope for themselves beyond therapy. I provide clients with a safe, warm, and inviting space to explore relationship concerns and life
transitions.  I value cultural diversity and appreciate differences in gender and sexual orientation. Beyond providing support, knowledge, and skills for my clients, I care deeply about their well-being and I advocate for them throughout our work with one another. Please reach out if you'd like to schedule a consultation or begin therapy. I'd love to hear from you!

Education and Training: I graduated from West Georgia in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy. I continued my education with Liberty University and graduated in 2022 with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In November 2022, I received my license to work as an Associate Professional Counselor. Since 2021, I have gained experience providing individual and group therapy in an Intensive Outpatient Program and Partial Hospitalization Program. Furthermore, I have experience working with individual clients in private practice.

Fee: $120-150 per 50 min session

*I do not take insurance, though I offer Superbills if you have out of network benefits you'd like to take advantage of and pay full fee. I also offer some sliding scale spots to individuals that need financial assistance.
