How did I get into this career?
I have always valued helping others! I considered being a mental health therapist, teacher, physical therapist, and occupational therapist. Fun fact: I completed all the shadowing hours for OT school and even applied, interviewed, and visited several OT schools! None of the schools felt like the right fit, though, so I visited Richmont Graduate University and fell in love with the school and community they have there. I am so thankful I found Richmont and that I'm doing what I love. I have been in and out of therapy for years for different life events and changes and have grown and learned so much as a result of my own therapy. I love that I am able to offer a similar space for exploration and growth for my clients and consider myself very fortunate to be able to be part of my client's journey, even for a short period.

What is my favorite thing about what I do?
I can't pick just one! I LOVE working with children, teens, and young adults and am excited to have found an avenue that allows me to connect with others and walk alongside them during some of the most difficult (and sometimes most exciting) seasons of life. I also appreciate that every day looks a little different! I've never been one to enjoy doing the same thing every day. I also love that I am able to incorporate creativity into my work, whether that is creating art with clients or in how I approach each client differently, depending on their needs and goals.

What do I like to do when I’m not at Work It Out Wellness?
I have a sweet pup, Soto, that I spend a lot of my free time with, whether we are sitting on my couch or out and about at dog parks. I love traveling and learning about different cultures, trying out new restaurants with friends, and sneaking away to the beach any chance I get. I am a member of the Rotary Club of Peachtree City and enjoy participating in the numerous service projects we have going throughout the year.

What do I hope for my clients?
I hope my clients experience a warm, judgement-free zone that allows them to express and explore themselves in such a way that fosters insight and growth. While some sessions are more difficult than others, I hope that they also enjoy therapy and look forward to coming! I value a holistic approach to wellness and hope that they feel comfortable sharing anything they'd like to work through or process. I want them to know that I am here to support and walk alongside them and hope that they feel genuinely cared for.
